The (not) Christian
It has become cliche and trendy for Christians to say they are not Christians. It is yet another mantra adopted by the masses and droned to the point that it has lost all meaning. I will not bore you with a spouting of why I am or am not a Christian. I don’t think you give a damn. More to the point, I don’t give a damn. When it comes to labeling and classification, I am more than over it.
Nonetheless, for sake of curiosity - and perhaps clarification - I will express my views on Christianity and where I stand in relation to it. I will try to keep this brief, for everyone’s sake.
I strongly believe that the current overarching state of Christianity in America - and the influence of Pax Americana in general - has tainted the modern world’s concept of Christ. More than that, it has done irreparable damage to the modern concept of Christianity, and (more importantly) to the world as a whole. I do not believe that Christ’s intention on Earth was to create any religion (by the modern comprehension of the word) - especially one that looks like the empty, schismed Christianity of today. Thus, it is of absolutely no concern to me what your concept of Christianity is. I am not here for a religion. My concern is how you perceive Christ. I am here to love - God first, humanity second, and myself last.
